GENERAL COURSE CONTENT OVERVIEW

Our AWP training program is designed to balance theoretical knowledge with practical skills, ensuring our participants are well-prepared for real-world challenges. The AWP course is divided into two main components: theoretical lessons and practical training. The emphasis in our AWP courses is on practical training. Because at BLOM opleidingen we think it is important that the workplace is safe.

During the course the participants are trained operate five types of aerial work platforms:

• Scissor lift
• Articulated boom lift
• Spider boom lift
• Trailer mounted boom lift
• Telescopic boom lift

THEORY FORKLIFT TRAINING

The theoretical part of our course covers a wide range of topics essential for safe and efficient forklift operation. Participants will learn about:

• Safety AI 17 and Occupational Health and Safety Act 
• Definition and applicability of aerial work platforms    
• Models and types
• Inspection before use 
• Selection sequence
• Safety requirements for use

PRACTICAL FORKLIFT TRAINING

In the practical part of our course, participants will engage in hands-on training sessions under the guidance of experienced instructors. These sessions include:

• Visual inspection
• Functional test
• Practical exercises
• Lift plane movements
• Execution-dependent exercises
• Awareness of hazards and risks

IS AN AWP LICENSE MANDATORY?

When employees within an organization drive an aerial work platform, a certificate is not legally required or necessary. However, the employer is responsible for ensuring a "sufficient" level of training for drivers. Getting a AWP certificate proves very clearly that expert training has taken place.

When you take an AWP training course at BLOM and obtain the AWP certificate, you can be sure that you have had sufficient instruction to operate the AWP according to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and insurance companies.
